The future of our economy depends on how we address equity and inclusion today.
Diversity of thought, culture, personal identity, lived experience, and perspective are needed to create a truly vibrant and globally competitive region. The St. Paul Area Chamber promotes diversity and practices inclusion in our work. We champion equal access and equitable opportunity to close gaps resulting from racial and other systemic bias-based barriers.
THE ST. PAUL AREA CHAMBER recognizes that racism and discrimination must be eliminated in order to manifest the true potential we have as a region. As an organization that aspires to “be the change,” we are dedicated to making intentional, actionable strides to commit our connections, practices, and systems to an equitable and thriving region.
The Chamber commits to:
LEARN IN ORDER TO CHANGE by fostering and accelerating dialogue, facilitating, targeted programming, offering opportunities to engage with others, assisting leaders in making strides that advance equity and inclusion priorities and create meaningful outcomes within their organizations and beyond.
CULTIVATE OPPORTUNITIES in areas of critical connections: supply chain, talent pipeline, and development opportunities for place-based and regional collective impact.
USE OUR INFLUENTIAL VOICE with humility to foster workplace environments of courageous deep listening and learning.
MAKE ROOM, GIVE SPACE for diverse leaders and leadership approaches, for divergent voices, for access, opportunities, and advancement for all.
WALK THE TALK through developing people, partnerships, programming, practices, and systems imbued with these values. Even more important is the will to hold ourselves both personally and collectively accountable to this commitment. This is real: we are in this work already, living into it; and it is aspirational: we are striving toward ever more impactful change.
We invite our members, partners, and collaborators to join us in our pledge of responsibility and accountability to be a catalyst for change.
