The St. Paul Area Chamber is excited to present our second annual Career Connect Event on October 17, 2023, at the
|
This year, from 9 am to 3 pm, we will welcome students from East Metro high schools to explore pathways for their future; from 4 to 6 pm, we will welcome job seekers looking to connect with employers hiring now, or who have internships, training opportunities and networks to share. All participants will have the opportunity to connect with a wide array of Minnesota businesses in six sectors including:
1. Business, Management & Administration
2. Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources
3. Arts, Communications & Information Systems
4. Engineering, Manufacturing & Technology
5. Health Science Technology
6. Human Services
For students: This experience reflects how students at increasingly younger ages are working to envision their paths beyond high school. There are more options than ever before for students to volunteer, intern, and shape their educational experiences. Our thriving business community wants to help students explore their opportunities and help them understand how they can dream and create their own paths to the future.
For job seekers: In today’s job market, it’s nearly impossible to get face time with a potential employer prior to an interview. At Career Connect, you will be able to explore a variety of careers in six different career pathways and talk to the people who work at these companies, explore positions available and potentially interview on the spot.
For businesses: Participating businesses will get to both hear from the next generation of students and talk with them about two- and four-year education options, technical and trades skill sets, and professional careers and entrepreneurial ventures, and will get to connect to people looking for work right now.
Career Connect promises to be a day of inspiration and connection for all! The event is free for students and job seekers. Register now to join us!

For Businesses: Interested in sponsoring this event and/or hosting a booth to highlight your company or organization?
The St. Paul Area Chamber is inviting businesses to participate in Career Connect to connect and engage with local high school students and expose them to career options before they make decisions about post-high school education and training; at the end of the day, you will connect with job-seekers to promote your company and open positions, and even take resumes or conduct interviews in networking areas in the space. This is not your typical trade show! We encourage you to get creative in how you structure your booth and, especially for the students, offer hands-on activities, utilize technology, and staff your booth with someone who is close in age to the students when possible to authentically connect with them.
If you are interested in hosting a booth at Career Connect, please complete and submit this form, and we will follow up with details.
The deadline to purchase a sponsorship package or booth is Friday, September 8, 2023. If you have questions, please email us at events@stpaulchamber.com.
For Schools: Help your students discover their path on October 17!
The St. Paul Area Chamber invites St. Paul area high schools to participate in Career Connect. We encourage district leaders, school career counselors, and teachers to bring high school students to connect and engage with local businesses and expose them to career options before they make decisions about post-high school education and training. Last year we had tremendous success and we look forward to expanding this year! Students will have 90 minutes to explore career pathways and engage with local businesses and organizations. We have six time slots, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis, between 9 am and 3 pm. This is not your typical trade show! We are encouraging participating businesses to get creative in how they structure their booth, offering hands-on activities, utilizing technology, and staffing their booth with someone who is close in age to the students when possible.
We are working to get busing costs covered for all participating schools once again this year. The Ramsey County Workforce Innovation Board (WIB) will be sponsoring transportation, and we are working on additional sponsorships to broaden our reach this year.
The sign-up form is coming soon! Please check back for updates if you are interested in participating in Career Connect! If you have questions, please email our event manager, Alicia Baraga, or call 651.485.3242.
For Job Seekers: Would you like to come to one place and connect with over 100 businesses? Attend the job fair on October 17!
The St. Paul Area Chamber is expanding this event to offer a job fair open to adult job seekers looking to connect with our Chamber members and additional companies and organizations. Please join us on Tuesday, October 17, from 4 to 6 pm. Companies will be organized by sectors, so you can connect with people in areas you are interested in. These businesses will be able to provide information about their organization and industry, current job openings, training required to apply, and answer questions. Some may also take resumes or conduct interviews on site. This will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with numerous businesses all in one place!
