Much to celebrate this week! First up, on May 8 we will be holding our Small Business Summit and Expo, Presented by Wells Fargo. And our partnerships grow! The Small Business Administration once again will announce its Small Business Awards, and this year we’re thrilled to be joined by the MN Latino Chamber of Commerce and the Minnesota Black Chamber of Commerce as co-presenters. We are honored that our partnership roster keeps expanding, this year includes: East Side Area Business Association; Grand Avenue Business Association; India Chamber of Commerce; Oakdale Area Chamber of Commerce; and the Rice & Larpenteur Alliance. Now THIS is what I’m talking about – independent organizations coming together in support of small business. While our Expo Tables are nearly full, we still have room for more attendees. I hope you’ll join us! My thoughts for this week also center around Mayor Kaohly Her’s “Rising Together” Inauguration community celebration held last Friday at Harriet Island. The energy in the room was undeniable. The crowd was so large, there was no question it HAD to be held outdoors! The Minnesota Wild’s Craig Leipold described Mayor Her as “historic.” And she is. She is the first woman and first Hmong American to represent our Capital City as Mayor. If the energy of an event can indicate the direction of a city, then be hopeful. Be inspired. And don’t just take my word for it – watch how the Mayor continues to meet the moment, speak with purpose, and show up for our city. See you in the trenches, B Happening Next:
