Applied Leadership:
The Need.
Minnesota’s workforce is moving
into a period of significant change. Soon, baby boomers
will begin to retire and a new generation of workers
will transition into leadership. As the boomers retire
there will be a shortage of workers and loss of
leadership in businesses and organizations across the
state.
Employers need to prepare the next
generation of leaders now, to be ready to face the
challenges of an ever-changing business climate and
strengths of a new workforce.
It will be critical for
organizations to embrace new leadership methodologies to
create a workplace culture that attracts younger
employees who value things such as recognition of
diversity, assistive technology, flexible hours and a
team atmosphere.
The Solution.
To help businesses and
organizations cultivate these future leaders, the Saint
Paul Area Chamber of Commerce Charitable Foundation is
proud to offer Applied Leadership Academy – a new
education offering which will bring high quality
instruction and coaching at an incredible value.
The Coaching Model.
Fortune magazine has referred to
coaching as the “hottest thing in management,” and is
the teaching model Applied Leadership Academy will
embrace. The Academy is designed to be interactive for
participants – by using an accountability model and peer
mentoring, participants will be able to immediately
apply their new knowledge and skills to the workplace as
they progress through the curriculum.
Nationally-renowned instructors and
coaches are the backbone of this remarkable program.
Cheryl Leitschuh, Ed.D, LP, of
Leitschuh Leadership Consulting, specializes in human
talent development and has worked with a variety of
organizations ranging from staffing companies and
government agencies to financial institutions. Leitschuh
will partner with another talented instructor at each
class to bring participants a variety of expertise and
consistent building of skills.
“This
is the best class I have ever taken. Great benefits to
my career and personal life. Made me realize a lot about
myself and how to improve my quality of life by creating
balance.”
“Team interaction was very valuable due to the diverse
backgrounds each of us came from.”
“This
course has helped me not only to better understand
myself and my style, but that there are other styles and
that they want/need to be approached in a different
way.”
“I learned a great deal from Dr.
Cheryl Leitschuh. The session with Anna Maravelas was
life-changing.”
